Tell us about your business!

My business is dance fitness related.  It's called Kukuwa Dance Workout, a Latino Africano Caribbeano dance workout that is for all fitness levels, both males, females and children.  From the first beat, you feel what this class offers you.  Time seems endless, the energy grabs you, and immediately has you moving your arms, waist, hips, and legs to a blend of Latin meringue, African soukous, and soca rhythms from the Caribbean.  This energy adds living flavor to your workout,  nourishing both body and soul.

 

What inspired you to start your business? 

I want to help people stay healthy and fit in a fun way through dance.

 

What did it entail to get started?

Quite a bit of finances, a lot of effort, time and patience on my part.

 

Describe your typical day at the office!

My office is very different from the normal business office.  I teach 3-5 classes a day throughout various locations in the area, plus I teach African Dance at George Mason University, and train instructors to teach my program as well.

 

How has your business grown or changed since its inception?

Very popular in great demand, spreading vastly throughout the world and becoming a household name rapidly.

 

What has been your greatest challenge along the way?

Finances and the right breaks to take my program around the globe.

 

What has been your greatest reward?

Seeing people lose weight, firm and tone their muscles and reach their goal in the health walk of life.  Getting back great testimonies from my clients all over. 

 

What’s your vision for the future of your business?

To take it out further into all corners of the world.

 

What words of wisdom can you offer to other sisters who want to bring their passion to life as you have? You can do it, believe in your passion, pray, stick with it and dedicate your time to it, you will succeed.
